Today, it's no secret that Americans most satisfied with their financial services provider are credit union members. Believe it or not, the American Bankers Association, the trade group responsible for assisting banks to compete with credit unions, conducts an annual survey of Americans to see which financial institutions most satisfy their users. To the ABA's frustration, the results have been the same for many years. Credit unions are the perennial winner of the ABA derby.
We
believe that banks could change this. If they simply acted like credit unions,
reducing their pricing for services to a non-profit level, treated their customers
with the dignity and respect that credit union members receive, and allowed
their customers a democratic voice in the operational decisions as credit
unions do, they would be perceived as positively as credit unions are. In
view of the bank mega-mergers of recent years, motivated
by the potential for mega-profits, we doubt it will ever happen.
So you decide. Would you rather pay bankers full, profit inclusive prices for financial services so their owners can get wealthy, or be a part of a financial community whose only goal is to help you build wealth? People Helping People - It works for all of us!
